The Village of Mundelein has an opening for a full-time Community Service Officer (CSO).  The CSO is an unarmed civilian employee under the direct supervision of the Administrative Commander.  The CSO is responsible for the performance of a variety of police related activities that do not require the service of a sworn police officer.

As a member of the Police Department, the CSO must comply with the orders, policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the department.  The CSO will perform in a courteous and professional manner in all dealings with the public and departmental personnel.

Requirements:

  • A high school degree or equivalent is required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Must be organized, hard-working, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation and drug screen

Starting base pay is $51,976 with excellent benefits.

Part-Time Opportunity - School Crossing Guard

The Mundelein Police Department is looking for a reliable individual to serve as a School Crossing Guard.  Morning and afternoon hours are required.   All equipment and training are provided.  This position calls for prolonged standing, repetitive use of hand signals to motorists and school children, and the ability to withstand a variety of year-round fluctuating weather conditions.  Minimum age 18 required.

Hourly rate $10.00 per hour; $40.00 per day guarantee
